When we decided to create a [kitesurfing school in Vietnam](https://kitesurfing-lessons-vietnam-sports-school.negocio.site/?m=true), we carefully considered many options to avoid the European winter. We wanted to choose the best and most successful location.
After analyzing these factors, we chose regions with light to moderate winds (12 to 20 knots) and flat water conditions to ensure the best learning environment for kitesurfing lessons. For advanced riders who love waves, nearby spots offer perfect conditions. The city of **Vung Tau**, 125 km southeast of **Ho Chi Minh City**, met all our requirements.

### Ideal Conditions 🌤️
From mid-November to the end of April, southern Vietnam enjoys daily winds from the northeast to the east. This period falls within Vietnam’s dry season, with minimal rain and temperatures ranging from 26 to 32 degrees Celsius.

### Location and Beaches 🌅
**Southeastern Vietnam** includes **Ho Chi Minh City** and further south, the coastal city of **Vung Tau**. The main beach, **Bai Sau**, offers a mix of waves and flat water, ideal for all types of kitesurfing.
Our students benefit from moderate winds, often able to stand and surf by the second or third day of lessons.

In 2012, during a three-month kitesurfing trip through Southeast Asia, we discovered **Vung Tau**, a hidden gem for kitesurfing. This led to the creation of our kitesurfing school.
